What are the post treatment care after mole removal?

During the post-treatment care after mole removal, antiseptic cream will be applied to the wound after the mole is removed to prevent infection.

Before applying the antiseptic solution, patients should wash or cleanse the wound with water or regular saline, softly patting it dry.

Expect 3-7 days of scabbing, followed by a pink to red stain that lasts a few days before returning to the natural skin colour.

The cosmetic results are usually favourable, especially when the mole is small and shallow. If the mole is a larger and deeper lesion, a small dent is probable.

The mole is likely to recur, and in some cases, additional care may be required.

A follow-up visit 1-2 months later to assess recovery and recurrence could be needed.
