What Is Skinbooster?

Skinbooster (水光针) is a treatment that uses hyaluronic acid (HA) delivered through precise micro-injections beneath the skin. Unlike a topical hydrating mask that sits on the skin surface, skinbooster is commonly discussed for deeper hydration support within the skin.

It is often chosen by patients who want smoother, fresher-looking skin with improved hydration and overall skin quality.

Skinbooster may be considered for:

  • Deep hydration support
  • Improved skin radiance
  • Smoother-looking pores and texture
  • Support for collagen and elastin activity
  • Selected skin-repair and scarring concerns

Because the treatment focuses on hydration and skin quality, it is commonly discussed for patients who want a dewier, plumper-looking complexion without relying on traditional volumising fillers.

Quick Facts

How Does Skinbooster Work?

As skin ages, natural hyaluronic acid levels gradually decline. This can contribute to dryness, reduced elasticity, and the appearance of fine lines.

Skinbooster works by placing hyaluronic acid beneath the skin surface to support deeper hydration and overall skin quality.

It is commonly discussed for:

  • Dehydrated skin
  • Fine lines
  • Dull or tired-looking skin
  • Selected pores and texture concerns

Because hyaluronic acid helps attract and retain water, the skin may look smoother, fresher, and better hydrated over time. Skinbooster is also commonly discussed for collagen support as part of an overall skin-rejuvenation plan.

At Bio Aesthetic Laser Clinic, treatment is performed using approved injectables and planned according to the treatment area, skin condition, and doctor assessment.

Benefits of Skinbooster

  • Improves skin hydration
  • Supports skin firmness and elasticity
  • May help brighten selected under-eye concerns
  • May improve selected acne scar and texture concerns
  • Supports smoother-looking fine lines

Are Skin Boosters Worth It?

Skinbooster is a hyaluronic acid treatment commonly discussed for deep hydration and smoother-looking skin quality. It is often chosen by patients who want skin that looks softer, fresher, and better hydrated over time.

Because hyaluronic acid helps attract and retain water, skinbooster is commonly considered for:

  • Dehydrated or dull-looking skin
  • Fine lines and skin texture concerns
  • Selected pores and acne scar support
  • Overall skin radiance and hydration

Suitability still depends on the skin condition, treatment area, and doctor assessment. Results are usually discussed as part of a series rather than a single one-off session.

Which Skinbooster Is Better for Me?

There is no single skinbooster that is right for every patient. The most suitable option depends on your treatment goals, preferred treatment frequency, skin condition, and doctor assessment.

Different hyaluronic acid skinboosters are often chosen for different reasons, such as:

  • higher hyaluronic acid concentration
  • longer-lasting hydration support
  • fewer sessions in selected cases
  • added ingredients in selected formulations

For some patients, treatment planning may also involve combining Polynucleotide Skin Booster with a hyaluronic acid skinbooster, depending on whether the goal is more hydration, skin repair, firmness, or skin-quality support.

A commonly discussed alternative is HA Injectable Moisturiser, which is often explored when the main concerns include skin laxity, hydration, and collagen support.

Injectable moisturiser, skin booster, and polynucleotide skin healer are all injectable treatments used for skin-quality concerns, but they are often chosen for different goals.

Skinbooster Side Effects

After skinbooster treatment, some temporary skin reactions may occur while the area settles. Common short-term effects can include small bumps at the injection points, mild swelling, redness, tenderness, or slight bruising.

Less common but possible risks may include prolonged swelling, irritation, unevenness, infection, or delayed settling depending on skin response, injection technique, and aftercare.

A proper consultation, suitable treatment selection, and careful aftercare can help reduce the likelihood of complications.

Skinbooster Aftercare Guide

After skinbooster treatment, patients are usually advised to keep the treated area clean, avoid unnecessary pressure, and follow the doctor’s aftercare instructions carefully while the skin settles.

  • avoid rubbing or massaging the treated area unless advised otherwise
  • avoid strenuous exercise, sauna, or excessive heat for a short period if advised
  • avoid makeup over the injection points for the recommended period
  • keep follow-up appointments to review treatment response and future sessions

If there is increasing pain, unusual swelling, or prolonged bumps that do not settle as expected, a medical review is advisable.

How is Skinbooster injected? Manual or Injector Gun

How is skinbooster injected?

Skinbooster (水光针) is commonly delivered in two ways: by manual injection or with an injector gun. The more suitable method depends on the type of product used, its viscosity, and the treatment area.In general:

  • Injector gun — often used for lower-viscosity hyaluronic acid and is commonly discussed as a more comfortable option
  • Manual injection — often chosen for higher-viscosity or cross-linked products where more controlled placement is needed

Manual injection may help reduce product leakage in selected cases, but treatment comfort can vary depending on the product used and the injection method. Topical numbing cream is commonly applied before treatment to improve comfort.

At Bio Aesthetic Laser Clinic, both manual injection and injector-gun methods may be considered depending on the product selected, treatment goals, and doctor assessment.

Skin characteristics: skin that is dehydrated on the surface or in depth and with an irregular micro-relief and tiny wrinkles. The ideal treatment to delay ageing and to maintain skin moisture level and smoothness.

With all aesthetics procedures, you should be sure to disclose all of your medical history and current habits such as smoking and use of blood-thinners, medications, birth control pills, or supplements.

We will apply a numbing cream over the treated area before the treatment to reduce discomfort. The skin booster contains anaesthesia (pain killer) as well. Thus the procedure is relatively tolerable.

After the procedure, we will apply a cooling face mask on your skin for calming and soothing. Your skin will appear a bit more pinkish and there might be very little pin pricks on the skin which is only visible if you look very very closely.

Your skin might feel a little raw for the first 24 hours, however you can apply sunblock to minimise the appearance of redness.

Hyaluronic acid is a natural body component (naturally found in the body). It is intended to capture and retain water in the skin. It behaves like a real “sponge”, because it is capable of containing up to 1000 times its weight in water.

When injected underneath the layer of your skin, the hyaluronic acid will constantly release hydration over a 1 month period.

It’s because baby’s skin contains high amount of hyaluronic acid and as we get older, our body produces less hyaluronic acid.

Environmental factors such as lack of sleep and stress causes the surface skin cells to become cracked and open which allows for excessive moisture to escape through the epidermis. The skin barrier loses its elasticity and flexibility and cohesion. All these can cause your skin to form dry lines and become flaky, cracked, uneven or dull.

Skin Booster allows the skin to replenish all the moisture our skin desperately need to maintain the soft supple form.

It is a booster injection treatment containing hyaluronic acid (HA). It replenishes the skin with a pure boost of hydration, leaving the skin smooth and soft.

When there is a supply of HA in the skin, it becomes a reservoir of water that continuously release hydration into the skin cells, keeping the skin plump and hydrated.

Your pores and acne scars will shrink due to the collagen regenesis in the treated area, revealing skin that is refined and soft.
