How does HIFU treatment work?
HIFU is an HSA-approved face lifting treatment. It uses ultrasonic technology to reach 3 layers under the skin to stimulate collagen production.
The ultrasound beams penetrate through skin at 60-70 degrees Celsius without causing damage to skin surface.
The focused beams will melt fat in the face while stimulating collagen to tighten the skin, giving the skin a lifting and toning look.
A 2017 studies found that 12 weeks after HIFU treatment, the skin elasticity of the cheekbones, lower belly, and thighs had greatly improved.
1.5 mm Depth
Superficial Dermis
The ultrasound energy targets the superficial dermis at a depth of 1.5mm, aiming to lighten any pigmentation. The quantity of melanin on the skin decreases after a few treatments, lighten pigmentation and brighten complexion.
3 mm Depth
Deep Dermis
HIFU treatment at 3mm depth is to heat the skin tissues for a tightening effect. The ultrasound penetrates deep into the dermis, causing collagen formation to increase.
4.5 mm Depth
SMAS (Muscle) Layer
The lifting action occurs at a depth of 4.5mm. When ultrasonic energy reaches the SMAS muscle layer, it stimulates and tightens it, resulting in good skin lifting outcomes.

HIFU Treatment Singapore
In the current market, HIFU is the only medical device that can penetrates the layer of the Superficial Muscular Aponeurotic System (SMAS) for face lifting and skin tightening.
