Botox, Dysport and Xeomin are 3 brands of FDA approved anti aging injectables with the primary ingredient Botulinum Type A. Although the main purpose is the same, there are slight differences in characteristics.
At first look, the differences between appear to be minor. Both have the same active ingredient (Botulinum Type A) and can help reduce appearance of wrinkles, muscle weakness and muscle contractions.

Concentrates
The amount of concentration in each product is the most significant difference.
With a ratio of 2.5 to 1 split, Dysport is more diluted than Botox.
Price / Costs
Naturally, it’s tempting to assume that Dysport will be more expensive than Botox due to the units required, but this is not the case.
Botox is more expensive than Dysport per unit as 1 unit of Botox is equivalent to 2.5 units of Dysport.
Spread
Dysport’s molecular behavior and diffusion are also distinct.
With just a few injections, this makeup distributes quickly, especially across a greater surface area.
Results
Typically you can expect faster visible results with Dysport (2 – 3 days) compared to Botox and Xeomin (7 – 9 days).

As a result, the distinctions boil down to how each injectable is administered by your doctor. For specific locations, a doctor may employ both:
Botox is more suited for smaller areas such as Lip lines, Crow’s feet, and other tiny creases. It is slow-moving and has a high concentration, making it ideal for compact spaces.
Dysport is suitable for larger surface regions, such as the forehead. It’s a quick-acting substance that spreads swiftly and uniformly.
Cost of Dysport vs Botox
The cost of Dysport or Botox is determined by the amount of units required for treated areas. In general, the price of Dysport is slightly cheaper compared to Botox and Xeomin.

Results of Dysport vs Botox
Unlike immediate results with dermal fillers treatments, the outcomes of Botox injections will only be seen in a few days after treatment. There are no downtime associated with Dysport or Botox and normal activities can be resumes after the injection session.
Botox Results
The results of Botox requires 7 – 9 days, however Botox injections can last slightly longer, with some lasting up to six months.
Dysport Results
The results with Dysport can be seen faster with only 2 – 3 days. The overall effects last three to four months. To maintain same treatment effects, you’ll need to return for additional injections.
Procedure Time: Dysport vs Botox
The procedure time for Botox and Dysport will require 10 – 15 mins. There are no differing time between the two brands.
The duration of the treatment will mainly depend on what area you are targeting.
For severe wrinkles and fine lines, treatment time will only require maximum of 10 mins.
For larger areas such as masseter botox or calf reduction, treatment time will be slightly longer.
Downtime of Dysport vs Botox
For both Dysport and Botox injections, there are minimal downtime. There may be slight redness on the injection site, however it will subside within 10 mins.
Normal activities can be resumed after the treatment.

Side Effects of Dysport vs Botox
