Post Laser Instructions

• The removal of the dark brown colored scab from the skin following the therapy may take 10 to 14 days, however the bruising may continue more than a few days
• If you wish to conceal the negative effects, you can use cosmetics
• Do not expose yourself to the sun on a regular basis; instead, remain indoors as much as possible

Preparation for Laser

• If you intend to have the Q-Switched Treatment, do not tan your skin.
• For around 2 weeks, avoid using aspirin-containing medications and products.
• Before the procedure, avoid using too many face creams and lotions.
• Avoid prolonged sun expousure

You can get rid of up to 75% to 100% of the black and brown spots on your skin in a single sitting. A few patients are invited to return for a second or third session because the initial one provided them with significant improvement. Skin creams can be used to eradicate the remaining spots. Furthermore, with Q-Switched therapy, you may be certain of having freckle-free skin for the rest of your life. The freckles do not return anytime soon. If properly cared for, the effects can persist for years.

What are the side effects of Q Switch laser?

As safe as Q switch lasers are, it is still a medical treatment which (in some rare cases) could arise to certain side effects. The side effects of Q switch lasers are:

• Erythema,
• Edema,
• Hyperpigmentation
• Blistering,
• Crusting,
• Erosions,
• Purpura,
• Folliculitis

Generally most patients find Q Switch laser a very comfortable experience and have minimal to no side effects. Q switch laser is the gold standard to pigmentation removal.

What is Q Switch Laser recovery time?

The recovery time of Q Switch laser treatment depends on the type of mode it is in. Generally the two most common mode is laser toning and a stronger mode to target pigmentation removal and tattoo removal.

Laser toning mode: Generally no downtime after the treatment. After the Q switch laser treatment, you may experience pinkish / blushed skin due to the thermal energy from the laser. However, it will fade away over the next few hours.

Pigmentation / Tattoo Removal mode: your skin will turn grey and white for a few minutes as a result of the laser energy absorption. If you have a lot of colours on your skin, you may develop some bruises.

For the next few days, your skin may develop superficial blisters, resulting in a crusting. It takes around 7 to 10 days for skin to recover adequately. Because of pigmentation, the treated skin turns pinkish and blends in with the surrounding skin.

In certain rare circumstances, if the repaired skin takes longer than one to two weeks, the skin becomes more susceptible to sun damage. It takes time for the pigmentation to settle and the skin to return to its usual, healed state.

Q-Switch Laser therapy is used to eliminate undesired spots, pigmentation and tattoo on the afflicted region, such as sun freckles, acne scars, and age spots.

It produces a non-invasive high-energy laser pulse with a specified wavelength on the targeted region.

The pigments are broken down into tiny bits before being absorbed by the skin and naturally cleaned away by the body.

The Q-switch Laser also enhances skin quality and texture by gently heating dermal layers with a laser, which stimulates collagen renewal while refining skin texture.

Unwanted pigment is inhibited and lightened throughout a series of treatments, resulting in an even and brighter skin tone.
