What are Skin Tags?
Achorchordons, or skin tags, are one of the most easily recognized benign skin growths. They’re so frequent that they’re thought to affect up to 50% of the population.
They start out as extremely little skin growths of a few millimeters in diameter and steadily expand over time.
Skin tags are most commonly found on the neck, underarms, eyelids, and groin. Due to a plentiful blood supply, certain skin tags can get rather large.
As we age, skin tags become more visible. Skin tags have been associated to obesity, insulin resistance, and diabetes in several studies. As a result, it’s critical to have frequent health checkups.
While skin tags are benign and innocuous skin growths, they can irritate the skin and be unsightly. Skin tag removal is usually the best option to remove skin tags.
Some patients with skin tags on their necks are unable to wear necklaces because the skin tag may become entangled in the chains, causing discomfort and frustration.
