How does HIFU treatment work?

HIFU relies on the ultrasound technology to reach 3 different depths of the skin to deliver focused beams (60 to 70 degrees Celsius) without disrupting the skin surface. What is HIFU?
Medical grade HIFU treatment is the gold standard facelift alternative in Singapore. The treatment results can last for 12 -18 month and only requires maintenance once a year. It is a HSA approved treatment and can only be performed by qualified doctors.

The HIFU brands used in Bio Aesthetic Laser Clinic are Ultracel Q+, Dublo-S & Sygmalift HIFU. All machines used are approved by Health Science Authorities (HSA) with excellent safety record.
Every brand in the market has its own unique attribute to stand out from the competitor. The important aspects to note are safety record, effectiveness & country of manufacture. The price of the treatments are also determined by the following:
1. FDA (Food & Drugs Administration) Approved Machines
FDA approved machine adds a higher premium due to the safety records & the stringent safety protocols. When the price of the machine and consumables are high, the costs are also translated to patients. KFDA approved also provide an excellent track record, however as KFDA is not internationally recognised, the prices of machines are slightly cheaper.
2. Brand of HIFU

FAQs about HIFU
Only hyaluronic acid face fillers can be dissolved. Other semi permanent face fillers such as Radiesse & Ellanse can last longer, but cannot be dissolved. It is best to have a consultation with the doctor before proceeding with the treatment.
Common brands of hyaluronic acid fillers that can be dissolved are:

Hyaluronic acid fillers can be dissolved using Hyalase (Hyaluronidase).
In general, face fillers are gels injected into the face to replace loss of volume due to aging and sun damage. Botox is more focused on wrinkles and fine lines. It is essentially a neurotoxin that to treat wrinkles like frown lines, crow’s feet, forehead lines and bunny lines.
It is advisable to be over 21 years old in order to undergo face fillers. For patients under 21, we require parental consent before proceeding with the treatment.
Before the treatment, it is advisable to avoid alcohol, aspirin, vitamin E and any other medications that causes skin to bruise.
Doctor Fin will arrange a medical consultation to understand your need and wants first. The treatment will be performed while you are awake. Numbing cream will be provided to ease any discomfort and pain. Results will be immediate and treatment only takes approximately 30mins.
Face Fillers feel like a slight pinch, and you may experience slight pressure or a ‘stinging’ sensation as the product is being injected. pain is such a personal and subjective thing. it all depends on your tolerance and on the treatment area.
Numbing cream will be provided before the treatment to minimize discomforts. Certain brands of face fillers have an active ingredient called lidocaine. It will ease the discomfort and pain during the injection. Most of our patients find the treatment bearable and can resume normal activities after.
The typical hyaluronic acid face fillers last between 6 months – 18 months. The duration of face fillers will depend on how fast your body absorbs the hyaluronic and constant movements of the facial part. Different people have different absorption rate, however the minimum is at least 6 months.
As you are required to use your mouth everyday for eating and talking, the excessive movements will make the fillers last shorter. Areas such as chin where there is minimal muscle movements, it can last longer.
