Dysport vs Botox vs Xeomin
The 3 Botulinum Toxin brands (Dysport vs Botox vs. Xeomin) all do the same job with slight differences. The difference mainly lies in how it spreads. Although all 3 brands are FDA approved, Botox and Dysport have longer safety track records.
Dysport spreads better (More suitable for larger areas—jaws and more even distribution)
Botox is better for small corrections (More suitable for targeting wrinkles)
Xeomin has the “purest” Botuinum Toxin (Our body will become less resistant to Xeomin)
The price of Dysport is cheaper compared to the other two brands. You will tend to see faster results with Dysport (1–2 days), while Botox and Xeomin will take 2–3 days.
Do note that there are some clinics in Singapore that use non-FDA-approved botulinum toxin (typically from Korea and China). It is important to check with your doctor about the brand for your safety.
Jaw Botox
Jaw Botox is the process of injecting Botox into the jaw (masseter) muscles, shrinking them by 60%–80%.
Obvious visible results will occur over 3–4 weeks, achieving a sharper, more defined V shaped jaw. Most patients who seek Botox jaw reduction usually have a square jawline.
For individuals who constantly grind their teeth, it acts like a workout for their jaw muscles, causing it to gradually increase in size (giving off the appearance of a square jaw).
Botox Side Effects
Botox injections are generally safe, but mild adverse effects such as bruising, headaches, and fever might occur. Some Botox side effects are linked to the injection site.
For botulinum toxin near the eye region, some individuals may experience drooping eyelids, uneven eyebrows, and dry eyes. The majority of adverse effects are transitory and should subside within a few days.
Botulism-like symptoms may occur in very rare circumstances. If you start to experience any of the following symptoms, get medical help right away.
What other conditions can Botox treat?

Botox Jaw Reduction: Botulinum toxin can be injected into the masseter to reduce the jaw muscles and slim the face. It is effective for patients who get constant migraines due to stress & teeth grinding. The muscle can shrink 15–30% over the course of 4 weeks. The result is a sharper jawline.
Botox for oily skin & pores: Instead of injecting into the muscles, when Botox is used on the dermis layer, the effect can control oily skin and pores tightening. The overall effect can tighten the skin.
Reduce excessive sweating: Botox can be injected on the palms, feet, or armpits to reduce excessive sweating. Although the results are temporary, they can reduce sweating by up to 80%.

There is minimal downtime for botulinum toxin. You can return to work as if no treatment has been done. We also include a complimentary touch up after the 1-week review if the first injection is not enough. Only hyaluronic acid face fillers can be dissolved. Other semi permanent face fillers such as Radiesse & Ellanse can last longer, but cannot be dissolved. It is best to have a consultation with the doctor before proceeding with the treatment.
Common brands of hyaluronic acid fillers that can be dissolved are:

Hyaluronic acid fillers can be dissolved using Hyalase (Hyaluronidase).
In general, face fillers are gels injected into the face to replace loss of volume due to aging and sun damage. Botox is more focused on wrinkles and fine lines. It is essentially a neurotoxin that to treat wrinkles like frown lines, crow’s feet, forehead lines and bunny lines.
It is advisable to be over 21 years old in order to undergo face fillers. For patients under 21, we require parental consent before proceeding with the treatment.
Before the treatment, it is advisable to avoid alcohol, aspirin, vitamin E and any other medications that causes skin to bruise.
Doctor Fin will arrange a medical consultation to understand your need and wants first. The treatment will be performed while you are awake. Numbing cream will be provided to ease any discomfort and pain. Results will be immediate and treatment only takes approximately 30mins.
Face Fillers feel like a slight pinch, and you may experience slight pressure or a ‘stinging’ sensation as the product is being injected. pain is such a personal and subjective thing. it all depends on your tolerance and on the treatment area.
Numbing cream will be provided before the treatment to minimize discomforts. Certain brands of face fillers have an active ingredient called lidocaine. It will ease the discomfort and pain during the injection. Most of our patients find the treatment bearable and can resume normal activities after.
The typical hyaluronic acid face fillers last between 6 months – 18 months. The duration of face fillers will depend on how fast your body absorbs the hyaluronic and constant movements of the facial part. Different people have different absorption rate, however the minimum is at least 6 months.
As you are required to use your mouth everyday for eating and talking, the excessive movements will make the fillers last shorter. Areas such as chin where there is minimal muscle movements, it can last longer.
It really depends on which part of the face is targeted, the desired volume and depth of hollowness. During your consultation, Doctor Fin will provide you with a comprehensive analysis of your facial contours and advise you accordingly.
